Our open vehicle safaris allow you to explore the wilderness and get up close and personal with some of Africa’s most iconic wildlife. For a more serene experience, our boat cruises along the Chobe River provide the perfect opportunity to relax and enjoy the natural beauty of the region, while also getting a chance to see a plethora of bird and animal species. And if that’s not enough, we offer day trips to Victoria Falls, just a short drive away from the lodge. Witness one of the world’s natural wonders and be back in time for dinner. With so much to see and do, we promise that your visit to our lodge will be nothing short of exciting.
Open Vehicle Safaris
Game drives offer opportunities to see and photograph the stunning range and concentration of wild life that the Chobe National Park and is famous for. As you drive along the river bank looking for fresh tracks, our experienced guides are able to interpret the bush signs and track the animals that left them. Being the first observers at a special sighting is very exciting. The thrill of finding spoor and tracking game must be experienced to be appreciated. Impala are everywhere and giraffe are commonly encountered. Elephant and herds of buffalo abound. Game viewing is a perfect way to spend your time in the peace and tranquillity of the early morning or the late afternoon.
Chobe Boat Safairs
Boat Safaris along the Chobe River are a wonderful way to experience close encounters with an abundance of riverine birds and animals. The game viewing while cruising the Chobe River is epic. You can enjoy watching elephants playing in the river or going for a swim. Hippos can be viewed wallowing in the shallow waters or munching grass on the lush islands. Giraffe and antelope make their way to the water edge and sightings of predators along the river bank are common.
A Chobe safari cruise is perfect for photography. Our small boat acts as a mobile hide that allows you to get close to the animals without disturbing them. This has enabled wildlife photographers to capture countless stunning images
Vic Falls Day Trips
The Victoria Falls, either on the Zimbabwean and Zambian side, are only about an hour’s drive away from the Lodge and a day trip can easily be arranged, either prior to or after arrival at the Lodge. A visit to the Victoria Falls should not be missed; it presents a spectacular sight of awe-inspiring beauty and grandeur.
It was described by the local people living in the area in the 1800’s as ‘Mosi-oa-Tunya’ meaning ‘The Smoke that Thunders’. Guests depart the Lodge after breakfast around 8:00 and arrive back at the Lodge before 18:00.
